To Bead or not To Bead!

Updated: Jan 7, 2019

We get requests from time to time from our customers to include Glass Beads in their curb address. For those not familiar with Glass Beads, these are tiny "sandlike" beads used in pavement markings used to increase the reflection of the paint from car headlights creating a reflective glow. Th effect id similasr to the reflective bands sewnm onto exercise shorts and running shoes used to keep people visible to drivers at nighttime.

While a good idea in principle, the downside to applying these beads to a curb address can be a dulling of the image during the day (beads make white numbers appear greyish), and a blurring of the image at night (from the glow of the beads).
